DUBAI – The Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) has rolled out a special offer to support UAE residents stranded abroad due to ongoing flight suspensions.

Starting Thursday, customers travelling within Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can access a free 15GB roaming data bundle, unlimited outgoing calls, and 500 incoming minutes, valid for three days.

The UAE’s second-largest telecom operator confirmed that its core systems, network infrastructure, and customer service channels are functioning normally despite heightened regional tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

Operational readiness

This week, du provided an update reassuring customers and stakeholders of its operational resilience. The company stated that mobile, fixed, and enterprise services are fully available across the UAE, reflecting its preparedness amid the volatile geopolitical climate.

“Our priority remains ensuring uninterrupted connectivity and maintaining the resilience of our operations while ensuring the safety of our people,” Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, said. “We operate critical national infrastructure, and our role within the UAE economy is very clear. While we continue to monitor developments carefully, our business fundamentals remain robust, supported by a recurring revenue base, disciplined capital management, and a strong liquidity position.”

Strategic investment

Al Hassawi highlighted du’s continued commitment to strategic priorities, including 5G deployment, fibre infrastructure expansion, enterprise digital solutions, Fintech, and ICT services, all while maintaining balanced shareholder returns.

du emphasised its financial strength, citing Dh4.2 billion in available liquidity in 2025, comprising cash reserves and undrawn committed facilities. This strong balance sheet positions the company to manage evolving conditions effectively while continuing to deliver critical services to its customers.
